We went to sleep with the pattering of rain on the roof of the motorhome and woke to the promise of a beautiful day. For this time of year it was nice; partly cloudy, low 70’s, and a light breeze with a hint of a chill.
Today is Millie’s birthday and I wanted to give her a break from travel and a chance to soak up some beach. After today it will be a long time before we can put our feet in the sand and breathe in salt air from the ocean.
I gave Millie the nickel driving tour of Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, and Fenwick Beaches, all the while spouting a babbling commentary of interesting but useless facts as I know them. I won’t bore y’all by repeating any of it. We then drove to the south end of Ocean City, where we parked and enjoyed a long walk on the boardwalk. I summoned enough willpower to bypass the Doles Salt Water Taffy, the Fishers Popcorn, the Grotto’s Pizza, and the Nut House candied Nuts, we did however partake in an order of Thrashers Beach Fries.
