We drove to Santa Fe today and saw the movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, we liked it. Very briefly the movie is about British retirees who travel to India to take up residence in what they believe is a newly restored hotel. Less luxurious than its advertisements, the Marigold Hotel nevertheless slowly begins to charm in unexpected ways.
The trip to the movies was my first trip to the commercial strip outside the old town. While they do have some none adobe styled buildings, almost all are still colored the red/brown of the adobe structures.
We had dinner at an authentic Mexican restaurant and stopped at Lowes for some stuff, it was a good day.
