Sunday was planned as a driving day and we traveled from Nashville TN
to Little Rock AK. The itinerary called for us to stop for the night in
a small 10 site RV Park about 60 miles East of Little Rock, but it was
full with construction workers. There is a large scale renovation of
I-40 taking place in the area. We found a Corp of Engineers (our
favorite type of camp so far) campground on the Arkansas River a Little
Northwest of Little Rock. It’s a gem of a place with a strange name,
Frog Suck Recreation Area.
We’ve had a situation arise that has
changed our plans for Monday; The Crystal Bridges Art Museum in
Bentonville is closed on Tuesdays. We are going to cut the Clinton
Library from the schedule and run up to Bentonville to see the Wal-mart
Art Museum. If we don’t do that we will be in Arkansas until Thursday
and we plan on being close to Los Alamos NM by then.
Plan B went
well today, we arrived at a commercial campground (Creeks Golf and RV
Resort) around noon, set up, took care of the dogs, then left them in
the motorhome while we drove the jeep six miles to the art museum.
The
museum is a first class operation, very innovative buildings, beautiful
grounds, and of course the art. Most of the art is oil on canvas
painting done by early American artists. I’m not even going to begin to
think that I can critique art, so you’ll have to visit yourself. they
won't let me put a link on this blog but just google Crystal Bridges
for more info.
